At exactly 8:30, a call came in over Skype.
It was teacher Christine (I'm not sure if I've got the name right ^^;)
Right after I picked up, she seemed to talk really fast so I was a bit startled, but she greeted me so warmly that I started in an equally cheerful mood.
Her pronunciation was clear, so I had no trouble listening at all, and whenever a question had a somewhat difficult sentence, or when I seemed not to understand because her speech was a little fast, she'd break it down more simply and ask again slowly so I could understand.
Also, since other sites' free level tests are almost always 10 minutes, I signed up assuming this would be 10 minutes too,
but to my surprise we talked for a whole 20 minutes.
Because of that I nearly ended up late for work^^;; and I could have said I had to hang up because I needed to get to work^^; but I wanted to talk all the way to the end, as much as she was giving, so I ended up filling the full 20 minutes ^^!!
Also, even though it was a test,
she said kind things that gave me courage, like "I can understand what you're saying, so I enjoy talking with you," "Have confidence," "Don't be shy,"
"Foreigners will make an effort to understand you too," and so on, which was really nice ^^
Anyway, even though it was just a test, I think I talked so much that I didn't even notice the 20 minutes go by.
That said, the sound had a bit of an echo, and there were loud noises now and then in the background — like a motorbike passing by? I'm not sure if she was calling from outside, but anyway it happened several times ㅠㅠ Toward the end there were also moments when the sound briefly cut out~
I'm curious why that was.
