Substitute

What if your teacher can't make it?

If your teacher has an unexpected conflict for a specific lesson, another verified teacher covers that one lesson — so your class runs on schedule instead of being cancelled.

  • ✓A substitute applies to that single lesson only; all your other lessons continue with your original teacher.
  • ✓When a substitute is confirmed, we notify you in advance by KakaoTalk (or email) with the new teacher and the reason.
  • ✓Your lesson list also marks it as 'Substitute (normally your teacher)', so you can always see it.

Q.How does the free trial work?+
A.Pick the tutor you want and book a free 10-minute trial lesson. It runs right in your browser with nothing to install, and if you like it, you can start regular lessons.
Q.How do I choose a tutor?+
A.Compare each tutor's experience, education, teaching style, languages, and price, and choose for yourself. You can also watch intro videos and check each tutor's availability.
Q.How is pricing set?+
A.Prices follow the hourly rate each tutor sets. You pay with lesson packs: 20, 40, or 60 lessons for 5x a week; 12 or 24 for 3x a week; 8 or 16 for 2x a week. The easiest way to start is an 8-lesson pack (25 min, twice a week) from $37.14. The more you buy, the more you save — 5% off your second pack and 10% off your third.
Q.How long are lessons?+
A.You can choose 25 or 50 minutes. We recommend 25 minutes for light daily practice and 50 minutes for deeper study.
Q.What happens if I miss a lesson?+
A.Cancel (hold) from My account up to 24 hours before class and the lesson rolls over to a later slot — free rollover limits per pack: 2/4/8 for 5x-a-week packs, 1/2 for 3x- and 2x-a-week packs. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows use up one lesson.
Q.Do lesson packs expire?+
A.Yes. From the payment date, 20-, 12-, and 8-lesson packs are valid for 30 days; 40-, 24-, and 16-lesson packs for 60 days; and 60-lesson packs for 90 days. Unused lessons expire after that. You can check your expiration date in My account.
Q.Do I need to install an app?+
A.No. All you need is a web browser like Chrome or Safari — join from any desktop, tablet, or phone. No outside programs like Zoom or Skype, either.
Q.What do I get after each lesson?+
A.Your lesson recording plus an AI analysis report — pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension scores, improvement feedback, and suggested expressions — are saved automatically. You can revisit them anytime in My account.
