Article 1 (Items of Personal Information Collected and Collection Methods)

The Company collects the following personal information in order to provide the Service.

• Required items: name, email address, contact (mobile phone number), password
• Optional items: date of birth, English learning goals, trial lesson results
• Automatically collected: IP address, cookies, access logs, service usage records
• Additional collection when applying as an instructor: nationality, education, career, certifications, profile photo, interview voice recording

Collection methods: automatically generated and collected during membership registration, free trial lesson application, instructor application submission, and the course of using the Service.

Article 2 (Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information)

• Member management: identity verification for the use of membership-based services, confirmation of registration intent, age verification
• Service provision: 1:1 video English lesson matching, lesson schedule management, lesson recording and AI analysis report provision
• Trial lessons: receipt of free trial lesson applications and notification of results
• Instructor recruitment: receipt and evaluation of instructor applications
• Customer support: handling of complaints, delivery of notices
• Service improvement: development of new services, statistical analysis

Article 3 (Retention and Use Period of Personal Information)

The Company destroys the relevant information without delay after the purpose of collecting and using the personal information has been achieved. However, where retention is required by relevant laws, the information is kept for the following periods.

• Records on contracts or subscription withdrawal, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
• Records on payment and the supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
• Records on consumer complaints or dispute handling: 3 years (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
• Website visit records: 3 months (Protection of Communications Secrets Act)

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

The Company does not, in principle, provide users' personal information to external parties. However, it provides such information only where the user has consented in advance or where required by the provisions of law.

Article 5 (Procedure and Method of Destroying Personal Information)

• Destruction procedure: after the purpose has been achieved, the information is moved to a separate DB, stored for a certain period, and then destroyed.
• Destruction method: information in electronic file form is deleted using a technical method that makes the records unrecoverable.

Article 6 (Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them)

• Users may view or modify their personal information at any time.
• Users may withdraw their consent to the collection and use of personal information through membership withdrawal.
• Requests to view, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of personal information can be made by email (admin@cherryeng.kr) or phone (070-7767-2777).

Article 7 (Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information)

The Company takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

• Encrypted storage of passwords (bcrypt)
• SSL/TLS encrypted communication
• Restriction of access rights to personal information
• Regular security inspections

Article 8 (Lesson Recording and AI Analysis)

The Company records video lessons in order to improve lesson quality and support learning, and analyzes the lesson content using AI. The recorded videos and analysis results may be viewed only by the relevant student, the assigned instructor, and administrators, and are automatically deleted after being retained for a certain period following the end of the lesson.

Article 9 (Use of Cookies)

The Company uses cookies for the convenience of users. A user may refuse the storage of cookies through their web browser settings, but in this case there may be difficulties in using some of the services.

This Privacy Policy applies from January 1, 2024, and if there are additions, deletions, or modifications to its content in accordance with laws and policies, they shall be announced through the notice board from 7 days before the effective date of the changes.
